About the Keyboard:

Corsair seems to have some of the most flashy, well-built keyboards in the industry, and with this being one of their more “economy” gaming keyboards let’s take a look to see if any corners were cut or if it stands up to their traditional product quality.

Design and Durability

The Corsair K60 RGB Pro keyboard is built with a brushed aluminum frame with black anodization.  What exactly does that mean? The anodization converts the metal surface into something that is durable, decorative, and resistant to corrosion.  In other words, it looks good and is made of durable material to last longer.

The design of the keyboard tends to lack some of the “bells and whistles” associated with other gaming keyboards such as macro keys, volume wheel, or a wrist-rest.  However, if a wrist rest is important to you, the PRO SE version of this keyboard is available and offers this feature.

Keyboard shortcuts are available to allow you to control your media playback, volume, and onboard lighting.

Cherry Viola Mechanical Switches

One of the things that helped to keep the cost of this keyboard down is the use of Cherry Viola mechanical switches.  Cherry Viola switches are not going to feel and sound the same as the traditional MX style as they use less expensive materials.  It is not a deal-breaker but just something to be aware of when shopping around.

RGB Lighting

As with many of the Corsair keyboards, the K60 Pro comes with per-key RGB backlighting and is enhanced with amplified underglow keycaps and a standard bottom row. The lighting is customizable using the Corsair iCUE software. The lighting can be customized to react to in-game actions and events as they happen.

Performance and Other Keyboard Features

The Corsair K60 RGB Pro mechanical gaming keyboard offers a full N-key rollover (NKRO) that provides 100% anti-ghosting.  Regardless of your gaming speed, every keypress registers.  The other nice feature is the Windows Key Lock mode that prevents you from accidentally interrupting your gameplay.

Pricing:

One of the best things about this keyboard is the price! Coming in at a retail price of $89.99, Corsair has provided a basic but durable, simple but customizable option for your gaming keyboard needs.

Verdict – Corsair K60 RGB Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Corsair has something for everyone and not everyone will want this more basic but solid keyboard.  Even so, it is a great option if you don’t have a lot of money to spend on some of the more expensive models.  The lighting looks great and the features included will get the job done.  If you want bells and whistles, you may want to look at another model that will fit your needs. Overall, at less than $100, this is a reputable choice for a lower-end more basic gaming keyboard.
